DCM - Dealer Connect Module - Quick Notes


{The Windows mouse is not active in DCM. You may wish to position the mouse pointer off the screen area. Note: The flashing dash or block of light is referred to as the cursor.}

1. Inventory Inquiry

Press 1 at the menu. Enter the RAW SIZE; i.e.: 2057515, and press the <ENTER> key TWICE. The Inventory Scan screen will display listing items of that size with your cost (including F.E.T.) and the quantity available. {To limit the scan to only items that are in stock, after entering the RAW SIZE and pressing the <ENTER> key once, press the "*" key located on the right hand side of the keyboard on the numeric keypad.}

You can enter a new RAW SIZE right on the Inventory Scan screen by pressing the F3 function key. To display your cost for more than a quantity of one, press the F7 function key, enter the desired quantity, and press the <ENTER> key. To return to the Menu press either F10 or ESC (Escape). If you are going directly to the Order screen, you can "capture" an item to be placed on an order by using the up and down arrow keys to position the highlighted bar on the desired item and then pressing F10.

2. Tire Fitment

Press 2 at the menu. Enter the vehicle year in either two digits; i.e.: 99, or four digits; i.e.: 1999 format and press the <ENTER> key. A list of vehicles for the year entered will be displayed. Press the first letter of the desired vehicle or use the Up and Down Arrows keys and/or PgUp and PgDn keys to position the highlighted bar on the desired vehicle and press <ENTER>. A list of models for that vehicle will be displayed. Position the highlighted bar on the desired model and press <ENTER>. Model and tire size options will be displayed. Position the highlighted bar on the desired model and size combination and press <ENTER>. You will be returned to the RAW SIZE entry of menu option 1 and the RAW SIZE of the tire selected in Tire Fitment will be defaulted. Press the <ENTER> key twice to access the Inventory Scan screen for this size.

If you do not wish to go directly from Tire Fitment to the Inventory Scan, use the ESC key to escape from Tire Fitment and back to the menu.

While on the Tire Fitment model and size screen, bolt hole, circle pattern, and torque information if available for most vehicles by pressing the F3 function key..

3. Orders

Press 3 at the menu. The last C.O.# (customer order #) will be displayed. Customer Order numbers are always negative numbers within DCM and are always generated by pressing the F3 function key.

With a C.O.# displayed, press the <ENTER> key TWICE to advance the cursor to the line item entry section of the order. The cursor will then be positioned in the AC (Action Code) column. You will enter Action Codes to perform various functions when entering and editing an order.

With the cursor in the AC column, press the <ENTER> key once and then press the F3 key to enter a RAW SIZE. Enter the RAW SIZE of '2057515' and press the <ENTER> key to access an abbreviated version of the Inventory Scan screen. Position the cursor on the desired description and press the F10 key. The item will be selected and placed on the line item entry of the order. Press the <ENTER> key to advance the cursor to the Quantity entry. Enter the desired quantity and press the <ENTER> key. The line will be completed and the cursor will be returned to the next AC line.

Press the Up Arrow key to move the cursor up one line to the item just entered. Press the letter "E" to Edit this line. Press the <ENTER> key twice to advance to the Quantity entry, change the entry to a different quantity, and press the <ENTER> key to complete the line.

Press the Up Arrow key to move the cursor back up one line to the item just edited. Press the letter "D" to Delete this line. You will be prompted at the bottom of the screen to confirm that you wish to delete this line. Press the letter "Y" for YES to confirm the delete. The line item will be deleted and the cursor returned to the AC (Action Code).

It is not necessary to RAW SIZE every item. You can advance the cursor to either the [PRODUCT #], [SIZE], or [DESCRIPTION] column, enter part or all of the desired information and press the TAB key to "FIND" an item. Once an item has been FOUND, you can use the PgUp and PgDn keys to display the previous or next item available. Or, you can press the F8 function key to access the abbreviated Inventory Scan screen with items displayed in the order that you FOUND them in.

To stop (exit) the entry or edit of a line item, press the ESC (escape) key. To exit an Order, press the ESC key as many times as necessary to return to the menu.

An Order can currently contain 28 line items, 14 items per screen, with 2 screens maximum.

You can stop working on an order at any time and the items already entered on the order will be retained. You can return to an order at any time and add additional items, edit, or delete items until you are ready to CLOSE and SUBMIT the order.

When you have completed an Order and are ready to have us process it, you must press the "*" while in the AC column to advance to what is referred to as Pg.2 (not screen #2) to CLOSE and SUBMIT the order.

From the AC of line item entry, press the "*" key.

Pg. 2 of the Order displays the order total in the upper right hand corner.

Currently, there are only two options available on Pg. 2. You can add three short lines of notes to the order using option "M" or you can CLOSE and SUBMIT the order for processing using option "C". Remember, once an order has been CLOSED and SUBMITTED, you can not make any further changes to the order. Submitting an order is the indication to us that we are to process your order, pull the inventory, and schedule it for the next delivery (provided there are no outstanding issues; i.e.; credit, out of stock, etc., in which case, a representative will contact you.

If you are not ready to CLOSE and SUBMIT an order that you have prepared, press the ESC key THREE times to return to the menu.

4. Order History

Press 4 at the menu, then press the <ENTER> key four times to access a scan of OPEN, SUBMITTED, and PROCESSED orders from the past 7 days of use of DCM.

As an alternative to quickly accessing the Order scan of ALL orders, you can select options to display just OPEN orders or just CLOSED orders that have been processed. You can also select the order of display; i.e.: by ticket# or date, as well as the starting date of the scan.

On the Order Scan screen the first column indicates if the order is still OPEN or has been PROCESSED. An "I" indicates that we have converted your order to an INVOICE. If you selected to scan ALL orders and there is a "C" in the second column next to an "I" in the first column, that means that the INVOICE has been CLOSED and is now on your A/R.

If an order is still OPEN or if you have CLOSED and SUBMITTED an order to us, it will have a "Q" in the first column. If you selected to scan ALL orders and there is a "B" in the second column next to the "Q" in the first column, that means that you have CLOSED your order and it is awaiting processing by us. Orders that you CLOSE that are awaiting processing will also have the word "SUBMITTED" listed in the STATUS column.

While on the Order Scan screen, you can view the line items from orders by pressing the <ENTER> key while on the desired order. To select an order to view, use the Up and Down Arrow keys (and the PgUp and PgDn keys) to position the cursor.

To retrieve an order back to the Order entry screen, position the cursor on the desired order and press the F10 key TWICE.

5. Account Summary

Press 5 at the menu. Information regarding your account will be displayed including account balance and aging status as of the last monthly statement or payment, whichever is last.

To exit this screen and return to the menu, press the ESC key.

6. A/R Detail

Press 6 at the menu, then press the <ENTER> key TWICE. An A/R Scan screen will display listing account activity from the past 30 days. Use the Up and Down Arrow keys (and PgUp and PgDn keys) to position the cursor on a transaction.

Press the <ENTER> key on an Invoice transaction to view line item details from that transaction.

To view disbursement details on CLEARED or partially applied invoices, press the F8 function key. When finished viewing disbursements for an invoice, press the ESC key to return to the A/R Scan screen.

When you are finished viewing transactions on the A/R Scan screen, press the ESC key to return to the menu.

X. Log Off

If you wish to exit DCM, press the "X" key. NOTE: It is not necessary to Log Off DCM. You can task switch to other tasks on your Windows computer and leave DCM active all day.

If you find that you are getting "bumped off" during the day when you are not using DCM, it normally means that your internet provider or your internet connection software is not properly set. Contact your internet provider for assistance with getting "bumped off" DCM. The only time we "bump" customers off DCM is late at night when we have to take our system down for back up.
